Privacy Policy
Effective July 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Ave ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Ave - Daily Bible Verse mobile application (the "App").
Information we collect
Account information. You can use Ave as a guest, or sign in with Apple or Google. If you sign in, we receive a unique identifier and, where you permit it, your name and email address from Apple or Google. We use Supabase as our authentication and database provider to manage this information securely.
Preferences and verse history. We store the topics you select, your delivery time and language settings, the verses you've received, your journal entries, and your saved or shared verse cards on our servers so your experience is consistent across devices.
Subscription information. If you subscribe to Ave, your payment is processed entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. We never see or store your payment card details.
Analytics. We use PostHog to understand how the App is used - for example, which features are opened and how often - so we can improve the App. Analytics data is tied to an anonymous device or account identifier, not to advertising profiles.
How we use your information
- To deliver a daily verse matched to your selected topics and schedule.
- To generate and cache plain-words explanations of verses, produced by AI on our servers.
- To maintain your journal, saved verses, and preferences across devices.
- To process and validate subscription purchases via RevenueCat.
- To understand product usage and improve the App via PostHog analytics.
- To respond to support requests.
Advertising
Ave does not show ads in this version of the App. Verse requests and explanations are not used to build advertising profiles and are not shared with ad networks.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the service providers who help us run the App - Supabase (hosting and authentication), RevenueCat (subscription management), and PostHog (analytics) - and only to the extent needed for them to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Data retention and deletion
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time via our support page. We will process deletion requests within a reasonable time.
Your rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. California residents also have the right to know what personal information is collected and to opt out of any sale of personal information - we do not sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us via our support page.
Children's privacy
Ave is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us via our support page and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the effective date above when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
